Miracle

Has anyone seen this movie yet? I’m thinking of taking my team to go see it. There are a few events throughout my childhood that I vividly remember and that hockey game is one of them. I just remember the joy of our team winning, against the Russians even, but what I remember most is the reactions of the grown-ups around me. And I didn’t realize at the time how important this win was to the American Spirit with so many other bad things going on.

Yes I have seen the movie and I even got a little teary eyed at the end. I recall the game way back when, but to me it was not as significant since I was so young. As I look back on it this game meant more to America at the time than anyone I believe really imagined. I give the movie a “2 holts up” so its a gotta see movie. The other thing I like about it and I doubt any of our youth will take this from the movie, but the coach is a real coach and not what the kids have today since the coaches have handcuffs on pretty much. They can’t even call suicides that name anymore as they have to call them up-backs now so it won’t offend anyone. I honestly think about 5% of today’s kids would have made it through the entire time with this coach and if you see the movie yeah the kids didn’t care for him at times, but not once did you see them walk away for being practiced too hard or even quit for being yelled at. May have gone a little deep with this one, but I kind of added my own little topic so sorry about that Trent. Happy Belated B-Day by the way!

So, I took my team to see this. Overall, I thought it was a great movie and I think the team liked it as well. It brought back a lot of great memories, but it also made me remember how excruciating the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period was…pins and needles!

Two thumbs up!
